influvet social media

From social media user to strategic creator: Check out our workshop on personal branding

What does your Instagram bio say about you? For many VET students, social media is part of everyday life. But few stop to reflect on how their digital presence connects to their future career. That is exactly where the toolkit “Empowerment of VET Students on Making Informed Career Choices in Influencer Careers”  makes a difference. One of the activities from our Toolkit that we would like to present to you today is workshop on Personal branding on social media,  a 120-minute interactive session designed to help students explore their identity, values and professional aspirations in the digital space.

What Happens in the Workshop?

The session begins with a creative warm-up activity. Students are asked to write a short Instagram bio (maximum 150 characters) for a fictional character – for example:

  • A superhero
  • A “potato influencer”
  • A wise old turtle

The exercise is fun, but it opens a powerful question: What makes a bio interesting, clear and authentic? From there, the workshop gradually moves toward deeper reflection. Students will have a chance to explore what personal branding really mean, how tone, values and visual identity shape perception, who their target audience might be and what message they want to communicate

Creating a Personal Brand Map

The core activity of the workshop is the creation of a Personal brand map. During this activity, students individually have a chance to reflect individually on their passions andinterests, their unique traits, their values, their potential audience and their visual style. After this individual reflections, they are invited to share ideas in small groups, receiving constructive feedback and encouragement. This process allows students to develop self-awarenes, connect personal identity with career aspirations and understand that influencing is not just about followers but about clarity, consistency and authenticity

And why this workshop matters? Many young people already use social media daily. However, they rarely think strategically, analyse how their online presence is perceive or connect digital behaviour with career development. This workshop transforms social media from a casual habit into a conscious career tool.
